Mount CD-ROM to the kernel

Guys,

I've successfully mounted a USB memory stick into Solaris 9 kernel using volrmmount -e /vol/dev/rdsk/cXtXdX, however I am not able to perfrom the same module in mounting CD-ROM, in another word I am not able to mount a CD-ROM to the system's kernel but I am able to see the character device for the CD-ROM when inserting the device into the appropriate drive.

Can someone please flip me with some directions/guide on how to mount a CD-ROM into Solaris 9.

Thanks guys
Fadi

If the volume manager is running you should be able to see the cdrom under /cdrom

To manually mount a cdrom:
Code:
Find the cdrom device.
# ls -l /dev/sr*
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root          12 Mar  8  2002 /dev/sr0 -> dsk/c1t6d0s2
#
# mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c1t6d0s2 /mnt

To mount the CD-ROM

Thanks for your commands, however I am getting an error when mounting the CD-ROM. it said

device is already mounted, /mnt is busy.
or allowable number of mount point exceeded.

I've umount /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 and another message appear

/dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 is not in mnttab
/dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 not mounted

Smilie

What do you think of the above output
