Help! can't install Solaris 10

Hi everyone, i been trying to get my hands on a sun microsystem computer for a very long time, but for some reason i end up with microsucks, sorry, microsoft, well to the point.
Finally i bought a sunblade 100 with no OS, i download the Solaris 10 .iso files and burn them into cd-r, sytem = sunblade 100+sun 6 type unix+sony lcd monitor.
I turn on the system and install the Solaris cd-r 1 into the cdrom drive, i reboot the system and i get this message,

Bad Magic Number in Disk Label
Can't open disk label package
Boot device: net File and args:
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet, on and on

i google it to find an answer to the problem and this are the most common answer,

hit STOP-A and boot from CD
STOP-A
OK> boot cdrom

i try STOP -A and the system does not response.
i try burn the .iso files with different software burners, different speeds, and there was an answer that the cdrom drive from the system may not read cd-rs, so i changed the cdrom drive from a pc, i boot the system with the Solaris cd 1 and i now i get this messeage,

Boot device: net File and args:
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet, on and on

and after a few lines this comes out,

Network link setup failed
Please check cable and try again

can someone please help me resolve this problem?
am dying for trying Solaris

Thank you.

First, stop burning new CD's - you have to be able to get the Stop A to work first (so you can get to the OK prompt).

Second, it isn't Stop -A, you hold down the Stop key and the a key to get to the ok prompt. (You may have been using the - key which is why I spelled it out) Are you using a SUN keyboard?

Third, the errors you are showing are because the system is attempting to boot from the net - again, you need to get back to the OK prompt.

Help too.

Sorry if I am Hijacking this thread.

I am having the same issue but it is with the cdrom.

I downloaded all the iso files for my ultra 10 sparc Solaris 10. Burned it using Nero and it seems like it wouldn't install. This is the error message I am getting.

ok boot cdrom - install
Resetting ...

Sun Ultra 5/10 UPA/PCI (UltraSPARC-IIi 333MHz), No Keyboard
OpenBoot 3.31, 384 MB (60 ns) memory installed, Serial #xxxxxxxx.
Ethernet address xxxxxxxxx, Host ID: xxxxxxx.

Rebooting with command: boot cdrom - install
Boot device: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom@2,0:f File and args: - install
Can't read disk label.
Can't open disk label package
Evaluating: boot cdrom - install

Can't open boot device

Boot device: disk File and args:

I am assuming Nero isn't the right tool to burn a iso for my ultra 10. The funny thing is I can see the disk label name correctly in the wintel machine.

Any one has any ideas?

it should happen almost instantly, you should type it in the same way you would if typing uppercase A ( except with stop instead of shift )

Burn at 2x speed. If that doesn't work the problem is the drive not the media.
