i don't think that you can make an own partition for /proc (i don't even see a sense in that.... Smilie ) since /proc isn't a UFS, it's the process file system, a virtual filesystem that provides access to the state of each process and light-weight process in the system. Keep /proc in your "/" partition/filesystem.

hmmm, reading the proc(4) manpage, it says:

/proc can be mounted on any mount point, in addition to the
standard /proc mount point, and can be mounted several
places at once. Such additional mounts are allowed in order
to facilitate the confinement of processes to subtrees of
the file system via chroot(1M) and yet allow such processes
access to commands like ps(1).

perhabs it's enought to change the filesystemtype in your /etc/vfstab from UFS to proc if you really need an own partition for /proc, not sure, cause the man page says
"in addition to the standard /proc mount point"....
something like:
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0s3 - /proc proc - no -

never tried that, anyone else?

No, proc is a virtual filesystem. You would never give it a slice like that. To mount it at an alternate location would be very similar to using lofs, except that the filesystem type remains proc, but the device to mount is still /proc.

for example:

Code:
mount -F proc /proc /mynewproc

You cannot assign a partition for proc.
