CD automount does not work
Hello,
I have a SUN Solaris 9 machine (Sun-Fire-V490).
I put a DVD in the reader to install a software. The automount procedure did not work (vold is running) : I have nothing under /cdrom
When I try "eject" command I have the answer "No default media available"
When I try to mount manually the cdrom with the command :
"mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2 /cdrom/lhs"
I have the answer :
"mount: /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2 is already mounted, /cdrom/lhs is busy,
or allowable number of mount points exceeded"
as if the CD were mounted.
So I am completely blocked : the CD is in the reader, I cannot read it and I cannot eject it.
I thank everybody who can have an idea on this problem.

did you by any chance cd into /cdrom/lhs first?

That's the problem if you did.

No. After automount failed, I created /cdrom/lhs before attempting a manual mount.
mkdir -p /cdrom/lhs
mount .... as explained above.
