Nvram

I have Ultra1 SUN machine, its NVRAM got damaged.
I purchased new NVRAM. now the host id of the new nvram is by default different than the old one.Any way to program it to change the new host id to be the same like the host id of the damaged one?

I do not think that the hostid is stored in nvram, I thought it is on a prom? But maybe a copy winds up in nvram somehow? Anyway, from the ok prompt, try:
set-defaults
reset-all

The first command resets all nvram variables. The second makes the system act in accordance with the current nvram settings. Please let us know if this procedure works. I'll actually be a little surprised if it does; however, it seems like it's worth a try.

I'm gonna move this thread into the Sun forum so that any Sun experts who drop by have a better chance of seeing it.

The link posted by Perderabo is considered to be the definitive guide to these changes, everything you need to know is in there.

I assume it is the ID prom that got changed?
