[Solved]No memory detected in Bank 3

Hi.

Recently I discovered how to access the 'ok' prompt on my E450. (Thanks DukeNuke2)
And so I've been running tests, checking the system out... (since until now I've not known how to get to the 'ok' prompt) And came across
Code:
0>INFO: No memory detected in Bank 3

and
Code:
*** Missing DIMM(s)...

as well as
Code:
*** Seriously-misconfigured memory-banks detected...Done

and
Code:
...Bank #3 0 + 256 + 0 + 256 : 0 MB

in POST diag.

So I opened up the system and checked the memory... There is in fact memory installed in bank 3, the same as 2, 1 and 0... All units appear to be in perfect physical condition and inserted properly. Which leads me to believe it could be a setup issue.

Is there anything which could cause this? are there any tests I can run to check the memory? Any tips anyone could give?

Thanks in advance.

No config, but maybe a bad contact because of dust particles. Please reseat the DIMMs!

looks like two out of four DIMMs in bank3 are defect. try to move the memory around to see if the error follows your movement.

Just tried this, (I'm new to server computers, the most I've done with computers until I got this box is repairing laptops or desktops... Even this old box (E450) impresses me, I just inspected, cleaned, switched and reseated 1 bank of ram, the entire process from shutdown to boot was 7 minutes.) Now back on topic... Currently waiting for the POST diag to complete, I'll edit my post with the results then.

EDIT: There we go!
Code:
0>INFO: 1024MB Bank 3

Thanks again DukeNuke2 (That's 2 for 2 of my questions answered perfectly) And thanks MadeInGermany.
