Using San storage - advice needed

Thinking of using our San for network backups..

Have a Netra 240 being installed and planning to get some space on our San.

Do you know what software is used to access the San from my server or what I would need to do? I know how to connect to local storage, disk arrays etc but not sure what is needed for San as I have never used it before..

Also - I assume its possible for 2 servers to access the same storage on the San, because if I am going to send my backups to San I need to be able to access it from more than one server in the case of a emergency.

Any advice is appreciated guys..

if you use an original Sun-SAN-HBA you will need the "Sun StorEdge SAN 4.4.x Foundation Suite" to access your SAN enviroment. if you use any other HBAs you will need the SAN-drivers from the vendor. go to sun downloads to get the SSF.
if you are using solaris10 it is included.

to "share" SAN Luns have a look at "man metaset". think about: you cannot mount UFS without the global-filesystem which would comes with the SunCluster at the same time.
