Solaris 10 x86 instalation problem.

Hello, my objective is to install Unix Solaris 10 on an x86 system with serial ata and also be able to chose between it and windows during boot.
I have a segate sata 150 7200rpm baracuda 80 gb hdd on an sil 3112 controller, I've searched and discovered that Solaris 10 supports sata and my controllers chip set however during installation it finds no hard drive and opens a terminal, what can I do?
Related to also booting Windows XP (which I still need especially since I'm as new as I can be to Unix) I found that there is a software called multi boot which might be able to help, is this software included in the Solaris 10 distribution? And if not how can I install it after I installed Unix and still make it bot windows.
Thank you for your time.

Somedays ago ,I installed Redhat9 in to a sata harddisk, but they could't support it, does everyone know why ?
Later, I get a fedora core 3 to intstall it, succeed !

The software "multi boot " is a boot manage tools, I think you haven't
success to install operate system to you PC, it doesn't work well .

I also tried installing Fedora Core 4 with no success, I'm afraid that even if my sata chip set is supported Solaris 10 might have trouble detecting it on a controller.

i had similar problem with XP installation on sata HD .... i resolved the problem with the drive of the controller , because XP doesn't have it .
I don't know if this could help you !!!!!!!!!!
I think that the problem is that your operatin system doesn't have controller's drive for support sata architecture ...................... Smilie

Al right, forget the sil 3112 controller, is there anyone who installed Unix Solaris 10 on any sata chipset? If so how does the installation differ from one performed on an ata hdd, maybe it can help me Smilie
Or can anyone at least show me where too look?
