It looks like you need to get an older version of DBI, designed to work with the older Perl version, or upgrade perl, the former is probably easier to do.

I have searched the revision history. Seems like 1.37 is the last supported version of DBI for 5.005_03. The required version is declared in the code itself. Some files in later versions in the distribution require 5.006 or later to run at all.

If this version still fails to load/install, probably someone changed the code to use new stuff but forgotten to update the least supported version. Then you need to try versions backward from this point on until it works.
