Hi,

Can anyone help me out in getting download the below required package for Solaris 10 SPARC 64-bit machine.

There is no /usr/lib/libiconv.so.2 in Solaris and there should not be any here. What libiconv provides in other platforms is already in Solaris libc. You might have a bogus binary if it requires one and in any case, that should be in a custom location like /opt/something/lib or /usr/local/lib but not the OS library directory,

You probably need to download and build libiconv. Source is available here: libiconv.

The GNU libconv site states:

This library provides an iconv() implementation, for use on systems which don't have one, or whose implementation cannot convert from/to Unicode.
Solaris definitely provides a iconv implementation that is able to convert from/to Unicode so libiconv is not needed on Solaris.

FreeBSD: /usr/bin/ld not looking in /usr/local/lib

I'm not sure if this is the default behavior for the ld command, but it does not seem to be looking in /usr/local/lib for shared libraries.
