If I instal Solaris would I be able to get a free media player insted of buying the sun one?

i've never head about a sun media player... but have a look on www.sunfreeware.com, there are many OPEN-SOURCE/GNU apps precompiled for solaris.

Thanks for that website it had alot freeware! How easy is it to learn Solaris? Would it be good for a unix beginner?
