Getting on the net

I've been having trouble getting my old gateway computer on the net with solaris. All of the network stuff is built into the motherboard. Is there a way that I can get it recognized?

It matters what your card is - try the info at solaris-x86.org. Also check configuring the network on the same site.

Sorry to keep bothering you guys but ive run into some trouble. I found out what kind of network card I have, but how no drivers are installed on my solaris machine. Whenever i try to unzip the drivers from a cd that i made in windows i get errors. Does anyone know why this is?

What is the error? What kind of card?

Why not try just disabling the onboard NIC and installing a really generic NIC that is sure to be supported? I saw an Intel EtherExpress Pro 100 on ebay the other day for $4. I'd be surprised if it wasn't on the list of supported cards. A lot of the old 3com 3c90x cards will probably work beautifully too.
