How to stop a cron job?

Hi Guys.
can someone please tell me how to stop a running cron job without editing the cron file? I know you have to find the process ID of the command, but I have no idea of how to do that.

I will really appreciate it .

If you know the script name and the crontab job username:

ps -ef | grep 'username' | grep 'scriptname'

If not - what do you know?

BTW - once the job has started, it's pointless to edit the crontab.

Here is another approach to get list of cron invoked running script

1. Get the PID of cron - clock daemon:

ps -ef | grep cron | grep -v grep

2. Get the process trees of cron PID:

ptree <cron PID>
