Using floppies and CD-ROM on Solaris 10

Hi everyone!, I have recently installed a Solaris 10 box on an x86 pc.
It looks like the SiS 900 Ethernet adapter is not supported by SunOS 5.10 (at least it is what the Sun HCL says).
The motherboard is an A7S266-VM/U2 with the onboard ethernet controller (vendor=1043, dev=807c). I've found a driver on the net but now, I have a second problem: "Don't know how to use floppies or CDs on Solaris",...

On Linux or FreeBSD is quite simple as doing mount -t cd9660 /dev/cd0a /cdrom or something. Running some command like that it displays:

mount: I/O error
mount: Cannot mount /dev/rdiskette0

; checking around google i've found some volcheck command.

The problem with that is whenever I run volcheck -v (no params) it says:

'no media was found'

,... does anyone have an idea of why is this happening?

PS: /dev/rdiskette0 -> ../devices/isa/fdc@1,3f0/fd@0,0:a ... The floppy drive is currently working in another systems or even with a boot diskette.

checking out the hardware, there were some kind of buggy situation with the floppy disk, that I've replaced and the volcheck was able to open the floppy, but the problem ocurrs after that is that the FAT format of the diskette was not recognized (unknown_format) ;(
