Computer Solaris 10 Window Managers

Hello all, I just discovered something weird in my system, well maybe you already knew it, but it's new for me, i was looking for a file when i ended up in the /opt/sfw folder, and well, first i saw the bin folder, so i entered and discovered a bunch of programs that installed with the companion CD (X86) , there are a lot of aplications already installed such as xmms, gimp, vim, bluefish editor and many more,so i wonder, if this was installed with the companion CD... why wheren't any shortcut's created in the desktop or launch menus? or at least tell where they were installed, i didn't have a clue about it Smilie ...

also in the /opt folder i found KDE!!!!... didnt knew that was also installed... and there are others like xfce and afterstep, i first tought it was like compatibility files for gnome or something like that... but NO, it's the complete Window Manager... i didn't tought it'll work but i just wrote:

/opt/sfw/kde/bin/startkde

and it started...

KDE started inside the Java Desktop System... OMGWTFBBQ!!! Smilie

well, it kind of shocked me, i'm new at Unix, i didnt know that you could run two diferenet window managers at the same time... that's cool, a useless waste of resources, but cool.

I later tried to start KDE from the console, i logged out of the root account and entered in command line login again, first i started X with /usr/openwin/bin/xinit , after i got an Xterm i went to the KDE folder and started KDE again, it worked, and i logged in KDE just like normal, but the color scheme is awful, looks like it's running on a 256 color mode, do you know if i have to give xinit some parameters to correct this? or should i attemp to change the color scheme from inside KDE?

and do you know how to put KDE, AfterStep and xfce to select on the graphical login session oprtion menu, with CDE and the Java Desktop System?

well... that's it, maybe you already knew that... but i just discovered it and there was nobody else who wanted to hear about it... Smilie

thanks.
