Hi guys i came across an error while compiling a c file in solaris using gcc. the error is,

Code:
Undefined                       first referenced
 symbol                             in file
bind                                /var/tmp//ccAr8qAh.o
accept                              /var/tmp//ccAr8qAh.o
listen                              /var/tmp//ccAr8qAh.o
socket                              /var/tmp//ccAr8qAh.o
inet_addr                           /var/tmp//ccAr8qAh.o
ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to a.out
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

This file was executing perfectly in redhat. can anyone suggest....!!!Smilie

I suspect you need to include sockets.h (Though header.h may load it but we don't have that code)

sys/socket.h is already included

---------- Post updated at 03:30 PM ---------- Previous update was at 03:28 PM ----------

these are the included files.

Code:
#include<stdio.h>
#include<unistd.h>
#include<fcntl.h>
#include<sys/ipc.h>
#include<sys/shm.h>
#include<signal.h>
#include<sys/types.h>
#include<sys/sem.h>
#include<sys/msg.h>
#include<netinet/in.h>
#include<sys/socket.h>
#include<string.h>

Read the man pages for those library calls.

The answer is there.
