Question Server and Software upgrade

Hi Experts,

we are planning to upgrade the End of life servers to new servers and from solaris 8/9 to 11. Server loads are minimum and not heavily loaded. After analysis we came to conclusion
to use the below. Can experts out there please let me know whether it make sense or any way we can reduce the cost by using other servers ? suggestions welcome and Thanks for your time

current estimated costs comes to huge amount in several thousands pounds.

Do those jump servers need to be in separate locations? Maybe you could consolidate all of those servers into single T4-1 running several LDOMs or zones?

Hi Bartus11,

Thanks for your reply. Yes it needs to be in different locations.'Consolidating in single T4-1' i am not sure really, because few of the servers cater corporate network and
few does the internet. Will T4-1 will be able to take all the load ?

Compared to your current servers? Easily Smilie It also has four build in network cards so network separation shouldn't be a problem. If the jump servers have to be separated, then you can still consolidate remaining servers and maybe one jumppoint? The thing is... you have two DNS servers. If it is because of the redundancy then you will need separate server for that too. Anyway, you could easily migrate all those servers to a single T4-1 and there would still be alot of power left Smilie
