metainit: Sol10: there are no existing databases

Hi Experts,
I am in direction to mirror filesystem in solaris10. Many articles I've read but not much help. Everytime I issued command metainit I always get 'there are no existing databases'. I don't know which steps I missed.

bash-3.2# metainit -f d11 1 1 c0t0d0s0
metainit: Sol10: there are no existing databases

I have two harddisk Installed and later I expect that c0t0d0s0 will be mirrored to c0t1d0s0.

I hope Solaris Experts give me solution.

Thx
FA

You have to create the metadevice state database and replicas using metadb before you can use metainit.

Hi Murphy and Bartus,
wow thanks...
Actually I already executed command metadb before metainit, but how didn't aware that I should do it for c0t1d0s0 instead of c0t0d0s0.
Now mirroring happened in my server.

Thx alot
