@fpmurphy your link points to an htmlized version of the iotop script, I guess this would confuse further the OP.

@al560045: just download the link I pointed to in post #4, make it executable and run it as root.

The wget routine renames iotop to iotop.1 during download -

I believe this only happens if you already have a file named iotop in your current directory which either is not the OP case or doesn't matter anyway.

Among varous other items, I'm trying to find out what "Authentication Management Infrastructure" (package SUNWamix) does, and why would a sysadmin disable it?
