What steps have you previously completed??

I remember doing this a while ago and did these steps:

(Assume you have a Solaris 10 box already running)

1. Install the Oracle package for "branded zones". The standard Solaris 10 package only supports Solaris 10 zones.
2. Configure a branded (Solaris 8) zone using zonecfg.
3. Either install the Solaris 8 sample flar from Oracle OR your own flar created from your own Solaris 8 system that you wish to migrate.

Have you already done 1 & 2 above?

thank you hicksd8 for your replay

we have already done 1 & 2

i have downloaded flar from oracle and i also make a flar from current running solaris 8 server

but we are getting same error
right now we are giving the error while we are trying to install from flar made by us.

Please post the zoneadm command that you are using to import/migrate your flar file into the branded (Solaris 8) zone.

Here is a link worth looking at..............

How are you getting on with this problem?

Since my last post I have found a document that I used for installing legacy containers. I need to attach it to this post as I don't know the URL that I got it from.

It contains a lot of detail regarding branded (legacy) zones.

Hope this helps.

Have you check the permission rights of the directory /bpcl/s8-zone/root ? Please post the zonecfg and zoneadm if possible.
