Command History - size, security and more informations

Hi!

I need to know how to increase the size of History, creating greater security in it, and view commands with details such as date and time;

Also need to know if they learn to write a 'history' command made via WinSCP;

Thank you!

Another question about history: How to view the history of all users?

shell history is shell dependent - the name of the history file is different for different shells like ksh, bash.

What Solaris version do you have, do you have admin privs, and what shell(s) are your users allowed to use?

Example: default shells on Solaris 10 are: csh, sh, ksh, and bash.

I have admin access and I like to use bash, but the default shell for all users is sh.
I am using Oracle Solaris 10 9/10 s10s_u9wos_14a SPARC

Solaris 10 /bin/sh, which shouldn't be set as default shell for regular users by the way, doesn't record user's command history. In any case, a solution based on shell command history is unreliable. If you want to monitor what users are launching, better to configure/enable Solaris auditing.
