Solaris

hi all ,
i have noticed lately the following message in my /var/adm/messages log :

May 10 15:40:56 inetd[3413]: [ID 667328 daemon.error] netbios-ns/udp server failing (looping), service terminated
May 10 15:51:37 inetd[3413]: [ID 667328 daemon.error] netbios-ns/udp server failing (looping), service terminated

i did some search on that and found that it is related to samaba .
since we are not using samaba anymore some i went and hashed the following 2 lines in the /etc/inetd.conf :

#netbios-ssn stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd smbd
#netbios-ns dgram udp wait root /usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd nmbd


i thought that the message will sease , but unfortunetly it persist..
i am using solaris 9 over SPARC
any suggestions ...

You didn't state that you HUPped the inetd or rebooted - see the man page for inetd. To get the process (inetd) to re-read the config file kill -HUP pid
(Note: although it only happened once to me, a caution that a inetd was sent a HUP signal and it crashed the server).
