problem with installing Solaris 10 on x86 stand-alone computer

hi.

I'm using Intel-based processor for my stand-alone computer running Windows XP Professional with a broadband connection.

By navigating through Solaris 10 documentations via the following paths:
'Solaris 10 Release and Installation Collection' >
'Solaris 10 Installation Guide: Basic Installations' >
'2. Installing With the Solaris Installation Program (Tasks)' >
'x86: Performing an Installation or Upgrade With the Solaris Installation Program'

I followed the instructions as stated in the documentations and set BIOS to boot from CD.
It didn't worked. My computer went on to boot from my Windows OS located in my hard disk. (CD is my first boot device in BIOS)

I have 4 CDs now for Solaris 10 installation.
Each of the CD has a ISO file respectively.

Please help!

it sounds like you burned a copy of the iso onto the cds as files, rather than as an image.

if that's the problem, how do I make sure that I'm burning the ISO as image the next time around?

Also, I can't use CD-rw as opposed to CD-r, so advice is really appreciated for this one-time-only burning mission.

What cd burning software are you using?

hi reborg.

I'm now using Roxio Easy CD creator 6, just as directed by the documentation.

Upon reaching 90% + in burning the CD-R, there'll be a message that says an error has occured thus interupting the burning process.

Anyway, anyhow, I proceed to boot using the just-burned-CDs; the installation stops a few lines after the installation method is chosen (one chosen out of 4 options given for installation method).

Installation stops somewhere along the line that goes 'use is subject to terms'. Somewhere along this quote.

Somebody help!

Two things:

1) Make sure you are burning as a bootable CD. I think you can go to File --> Create Bootable CD (or something like that - I can't remember offhand)

2) Try lowering your burn speed. Are you sure the CD-R's are good?
