Hi All,

Can anybody worked on Alexandria backup tool. What are the versions are available? What are the platforms it support? Does it support solaris 9?
Please help me. Even if you can refer some URL it is great.

Alexandria product - windows and macintosh support

There is also a mention of Alexandria that was renamed in 1999 to SAMS:Alexandria - part of Spectra Logic - but I could not find any mention of it on their home page - but you might want to call them. ( News item )

It looks like the reason you can't find it under the Spectra Logic umbrella is that on March 8, 1999 Spectra Logic sold their backup software and business to Sterling. Then, Sterling Software was acquired by Computer Associates in March 2000.

Performing a search on CA's site for "Alexandria", shows a number of links refering to their BrightStor Enterprise Backup v 10.5 product. Interestingly enough, one of the meta keywords in the page source is "Alexandria"

<meta NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="Alexandria..."

So I'm guessing that BrightStor Enterprise Backup is either a replacment for or a rebranding of Alexandria. Call Computer Associates' sales department. I'm sure they'd be happy to talk to you.

Cheers,

Keith

Alexandria is owned by CA

I was a support backline for Spectralogic back then, and v 4.5 of Alexandria is the last alexandria named version. V5.0 became Brightstor EB. What version do you have & what problem are you having?
