I'm trying to setup a link between my home pc (work-machine) and a server at work (tar-machine) that is behind a gateway (hop-machine) and not directly accessible.

Hi, This is a strange issue: We have an sftp server. Users can ssh to it from internal LAN without any issue, but they can not ssh to it externally via firewall. Here is what I got:
OS is Solaris 9. No hosts.allow and hosts.deny files.

I have encounter this solaris problem and it happens intermittent. When it happens, the system is freezing and unable to telnet/ssh in but the system ip is still able to ping. after that it will back to the normal and everything seems like be normal again. it is sun cluster setup.

I was implementing a change of TELNET to SSH connectivity, and finding it tough at a point where I was connecting to another unix server through TELNET.

telnet at my system is behaving stange. Some times I am able to telnet to other machines but sometimes it stop doing that. Then i have to reboot the machine and most of the time (not 100%) it works. I am currently setting up rdiff-backup to use ssh to connect and remotely backup and retrieve data. I am doing so by creating rsa keys for each server and copying the relevant key to the /.ssh folder on the relevant server.
