Download Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions and depending on what format is provided, uncompress and install the package (pkgadd), extract the archive and follow instructions found inside, or just run the downloaded file if it is a self contained installer.

Code:
bunzip2 < xxx.tar.bz2 | tar xvf -

then have a look at the extracted data for a readme file.

You give assess to everyone. There should be no problem. Have you tried to run the program as a normal user? The file should be r-x for everyone. Do an ls -l on the file to see the permissions.
