Which are the sparc only solaris 10 commands?
Please tell me the SPARC only solaris 10 commands for user and admin level.
Only the commands which work on SPARC based solaris 10, not x86 solaris.

Is there any list or doc?

Not looking for nvram kind of system health/status checker.

All of the commands that are part of POSIX are sparc. Any shell script, executable file in /sbin or /usr/sbin is also sparc. This is ONLY true on a sparc box.

If you have a sparc box you will not have x86 stuff on it, unless somebody did something bad. Or interesting, depending on your point of view. You do know that a lot of applications developed for x86 are also available in sparc? see

I'm really sorry for the delay and the ambiguity which surly occurs from my question.

I'm want to know all the solaris 10 commands which only/exclusively work on sparc
system. All the commands that work in sparc system only and don't exist in x86 arch.
The commands which have been written exclusively for sparc arch.

I know that Sun make s a version of Solaris for Sparc platforms and also an x86 (Intel/AMD) release of Solaris. Can an application that runs on Solaris/Sparc also run on a PC running the x86 release of Solaris? Would a different release be required or any re-compling of the application? jim (1 Reply)
