Thanks for the messages.

I had downloaded solaris 11 live without any problem though I
had to click the otn licence radio box which says "I agree..."
but that couldn't be of any help as that was 64bit and mine is
32bit sys. I use solaris 10 (built on 2005 ) but my nic hasn't been
detected ( i posted a message regarding this problem but
haven't yet received any answer) so, now planning to replace
with latest version in order to have my nic detected.

I tried with wget as Corona688 asked me to do and the following is the output of wget.
Why is it happening? Is it happening due to a fault at oracle's end or my
connection would choke? Also my connection may have been choked as pseudocoder said.

Solaris 11 is 64-bit only. Solaris 10 supports both x86 and x86-64.

Hi. You obviously(!) run in a timeout. The reason is because it takes far to long to download it.
When you enter the oracle.com site you submit some credentials and then you are allowed to perform the actual download.
I assume this works for a hour or two then wget is not able to receive the complete file because you were logged off due to the timeout.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

>You obviously(!) run in a timeout.
Yes, you are right. I got ping loss for a very short period of time
so I think that might have been the reason of disconnection.

But Corona688 asked me to use wget and Brandon Hume (at alt.solaris.x86)
suggested to use -c with wget but the problem was to start wget manually with
-c as it had been started automatically (initiated by firefox as mail download engine).
At this point John D Groenveld(at alt.solaris.x86) suggested to use oracles equivalent
to Sun's wget_sdlc shell script which i couldn't find so I used another with little R&D.
wget -c --http-user=myn...@domain.tld --http-passwd=mypasswd \
--no-check-certificate \
http://download.oracle.com/otn/solaris/ \
10/sol-10-u10-ga2-x86-vd.iso?AuthParam=1328731541_4377fe1d1489e4d6b9159b3501fe72a7

Now I've been downloading it for the last 15 hrs. and expected to be over after 7 long hrs.
I encountered disconnection twice but -c has started at the offset of previously downloaded
part. Hope this time it clicks.
Thanks again.
