Operating Systems Solaris LU - Reverting to original Boot Enviroment

Not necessary to do it from console, you need to be root thats it.

You could have used -x option of lucreate to exclude such fileystem which are auto mounted upon login.

Since you want to activate the old environment, I would recommend to edit its ICF file, umount d0 FS and then try to activate it.

Once you have booted with the old environment you can then correct the ICF file for the new environment.

Hope this helps.

Hi Vishal

I was going to try your suggestion tonight out of hours. In the meantime, I also logged a call with Oracle who had suggested trying lumount of current_be to see if that was the problem - it worked successfully but when I come to unmount it through luumount it says it's not mounted - df reports that it is!

I also noticed that root filesystems for current_be and solaris10_910_be seem to be sharing the same disk!

Think I'm going to wait and see what Oracle say about it all before doing anything else.

Hi Vishal

What I did which seems to have sorted the problem is:

- I had previously been on LU patch 121430-67 which may well have been causing th problem. I'd removed that and install 121430-57 and there was still an issue.

So in the end I did the following:
- Remove 121430-57 and 121428-15 (LU zones patch-Remove the /etc/lutab
- Remove the /etc/lu directory
- Remove and reapply the lu packages from from 8/07 install media SUNWlucfg SUNWlur SUNWluu
- Apply 121430-57 and 121428-15
- Created current_be and Solaris10_910_be again.
- I was then able to activate and boot from both environments with no problem. I switched between the two a few times to make sure.

So now the next step is to carry out the Live Upgrade to 10 9/10.

Thanks for your assistance!

Paul
