useradd problem

Smiliei want to create a user in solaris whose password expires after every 30 minutes and he has to change his password after evry thirty minutes.How can we do that?Smilie

It seems it's not possible to implement such requirements with Solaris itself by default you might need some extra tools or you may consult Oracle .
As far as I know Trusted Solaris Extensions might provide such capabilities, It was toward security conscious organizations such as Governments , Military , Banking and so on.

Using ldap as a backend for the password database definitely allow that kind of requirement.

That doesn't follow any best practices even in the most secure environments. Passwords expiring that often would cause people to constantly forget their passwords, and thus ultimately lead to people writing them down, etc...

The file where you store your password policies is /etc/default/passwd

I thought the same but assumed the requirement is only for testing purposes.

Indeed but this is only for locally handled accounts with which the lowest allowed granularity is one day. This doesn't match the OP requirements.

Agreed, my point was Solaris alone can't fulfill that requirement.

Unless you are using a Solaris release including a Sun Directory Server license, which used to be the case up to Solaris 10 update 5.
