I installed x86 Solaris 10 update 10 after Windows XP, later I removed xp and installed Debian 9 stretch on the same partition but, Debian couldn't find any other os so it deleted Solaris 10 grub or did something like that I couldn't got.

Hello forum members,
Please help me to recover the root password. I have had difficulties working with Solaris 11.
The run-level equivalents single-user in Solaris 10, I can mount disk in one partition and edit files shadow/passwd.
For example:

I was messing with pkgsrc and wanted to start fresh so I manually deleted the /var/pkg directory on Solaris 11 :eek: (of course I was supposed to delete the /var/db folder instead)...

I have been running some tests with solaris mpxio, dual-pathed to HDS SAN storage.
When I take a path offline, Solaris recognised this and a path is shown as offline in luxadm display <device>. However, it does not recover on reinstatement of the path until I run cfgadm -al.
Any ideas?
