M4000 Server Issue

Dear Team,

This time i am facing some problems in Sun SPARC M4000 server. I have a doubt, when we are upgrading the firmware if XSCF , the OBP is also upgraded.

What about server OBP, Is that upgardation need to be done separately ?

what about DVD-ROM, HARD DISK firmware. whether this things needs firmware upgradation separately ?

Sudhansu

You need to restart the domain for it to pick up the new OBP update.

As far as DVD and hard disk firmware are concerned, that needs to be done from the domain [server] if any is available to update.

Thanx vishal for your inputs..

There is only one domain present in it. Please find the attached logs.

Ok, so once you have updated the XCP, recycle the domain to pick up the new firmware.

Here are some handy steps.

Quote:
- Current image status
getflashimage -l

- Get the current version details
version -c xcp -v

- Download and update the new image
getflashimage -u root ftp://<ip address>/FFXCP1091.tar.gz [its one of the methods]
flashupdate -c update -m xcp -s 1091

XSCF Reboots

- Check the updated version
version -c xcp -v

- Recycle the domain
poweroff -d 00
poweron -d 00

Vishal
