Hi,

What are the critical logs need constant monitoring ?

we are using Solaris 8 on E450 server

Solaris - check your /etc/syslog.conf - read the man page for both syslogd and syslog.conf. See what log files are being used (would be /var/adm/messages as default for most). These log files should be checked daily.

Since you don't state what you are looking for (worried about security, hardware issues, software issues,...), another thing to check for system hardware is running /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v This will show you a quick status of the server. Search these forums for Solaris and logs - there are many different things you can check to keep you busy!
