[Solved] How to change my default login mode????

Hi guys,
I have just installed Solaris 10 x86. My system boots into graphical login by default, I want to have text login only, where can I change that. I tried to use the linux and bsd concept of editing /etc/inittab, and change the default value to 3, but that doesn't work in Solaris. Please help me, please!!!!. Looking forward to your replies. And please provide a bit explaination, I am very new in Solaris world.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's a matter of "login mode" as what services are starting. Prevent X from starting and you won't get the GUI.

Here is a clue :-)
Code:
man dtconfig

Quote:
dtconfig - desktop configuration utility
SYNOPSIS
dtconfig [-d |-e |-kill |-reset |-p |-inetd |-inetd.ow ]
DESCRIPTION
Desktop configuration utility. Integrates CDE with the
operating system of the underlying platform. System root
login privilege is required to use dtconfig.
OPTIONS
-d Disables desktop auto-start feature. At end of boot
cycle, platform's native text based login mechanism
will be used.

Solaris 10 does not have runlevels anymore. It uses SMF along with milestones (the concept is similar to runlevels).

To see which milestones are online you can use: svcs milestone*

Now back to the original thread, the short answer is:
Code:
/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d

if i may just add, using SMF to disable the graphical login:
Code:
# svcadm disable gdm2-login

or
Code:
# svcadm disable cde-login

There's more than one way to skin a cat Smilie
