Solaris Login problem!

Dear friends,
I am using Solaris 10 x86 under Virtualbox. Now when I start the system, and login with the root account, the following message pops up on the screen.
Code:

Starting Desktop login on display :0....
Wait for the desktop login screen before logging in

The login prompt doesn't let me login, although I am already logged in.
This is really irritating, what is causing all this?
And could you also please tell me how I can change my login mode to text(console). I tried to do it the linux way by editing /etc/inittab, 3 for text and 5 for graphical, but I cannot find the default entry for that in the inittab file.
Looking forward to your kind replies.
Thanks in advance!

If you want to disable graphical login, use this:
Code:
svcadm disable gdm2-login

I've got Solaris 9. I've read that I can do a login script for each individual user with the .postlogin file, but is there not a way to set up something like that from a group-membership level? If there is, how can one trace down what group membership login scripts are being run? (0 Replies)
