Advice to become a unix guru?

Hello,
I have recently completed my training for Solaris 10 and have a good understanding of the bases now. I am playing around with my system but can't do much since my knowledge is limited. I am looking for some projects or some threads where I can learn more and expand my knowledge step by step. I guess I am kind of bored because I am going through the same stuff over and over again. Anything new in unix always excites me. I would like to learn entire system inside out. I would love to be part of different projects and also if it helps me learning system administration tasks, that would be great. Please give me some guidance.

visit the official documentation library of Solaris 10 at Oracle Solaris 10 9/10 Release and have a good read of the other neat features of the OS. try playing around especially those features that are not covered on the systems administration training. there's a lot that will surely come handy when you land on systems administration job.

Scan the posts the forum section that interests you, or that you want to learn a bit more about. When you look at a thread, read only the original post and see if you can solve the problem or know the answer. If it's a scripting question write a test script for the practice. Then read the "answers" and compare your solution with what was posted. If you didn't know the answer, or your script didn't work, then you'll have learned something new.

Thanks guys for your feedback, I was just looking at the linux build from scratch project and it looks interesting. Do these projects help you understand the system administrations tasks?

I have built LFS once, very educational. I am working on my Solaris Certification at the moment, but plan to build it again a couple of more times.
