For one,
Think of a flash archive as an image (hence platform specific), where as in jumpstart, pkgadd command is used to install each package on the remote system.

Flash Archive is it image of file system or disk blocks on that file system ?

flash archive installation is used for cloning a system. where the system will be like the master that you have made all the customization i.e. installed patches, application and other changes and made clones from. a flash archive cannot be installed in meta device systems ie. using the solaris volume management or the ZFS filesystem.

jumpstart is an automated, unattended method of installing the solaris OS. mostly used to install solaris os from the network. the installation media used by jumpstart might be from a shared installation image, ie, image of the cd or dvd installer or it can also be a flash archive.
