send mail from crontab
I want the crontab to send me the output along with subject to my email address. In order to do that, I tried the following :

02 15 15 06 * /ora01/script.sh | /bin/mail -s "Task Complete" xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com &

I am getting the output in the email but there is no subject displayed in the email. If I have to receive the output as well as the subject in the email what I need to do?

Why the & to run in the background. crond runs in the background already.
As a guess try single quotes arounf the subject.

You could also write to a log to see what is causing the problem:

The command that takes these options is 'mailx', not 'mail'. Using 'mail' in this fashion generates a dead.letter file in the user's home directory. Try running it from the command prompt. It should at least run correctly there before thinking about putting it in a crontab.
