SMC Display error

Dear all,

I try to run smc but i have the below message :

It appears you are attempting to run the graphical
Solaris Management Console from a terminal which does
not have a suitable 'DISPLAY' environment. Please check
your 'DISPLAY' settings and that the user identity of
this terminal has access to the X server of this display.

Please help me to set the DISPLAY

You need an X window that you can point the tool at, using:

export DISPLAY=[host]:#.0

where the X window is listening on host, or localhost if not present, port 600#.

We changed our root password on one of our Master NIS machines. We tried going into the SMC after the password change and it keeps failing for root login.
