Solaris

Hi friends , i am new to solaris and i have an issue with my Solaris 8 10/00 server, when idle for a period of time it looks like it goes to a hypernation or standby mode...and network disconnects
and when any cronjob triggers then the server comes alive...
and sometimes i have to login directly into the server and excecute ping to my gateway then everything will be back again..
i tried changing the pmconfig file..still no use
can somebody help me on this
