Solaris Express or OpenIndiana

Simply question which should I use. correct me if I'm wrong but Solaris Express is taking the place of Opensolaris and is officially sanctioned by Oracle and OpenIndiana is what used to be OpenSolaris.

If I opt for OpenIndiana is it going to follow the official Oracle Solaris releases or are Oracle going to hinder them to the point where it ceases to exist.

Solaris Express has nothing to do with OpenSolaris. It is simply an early release of Solaris 11. OpenIndiana is a fork of OpenSolaris.

No reason for OpenIndiana to follow official Oracle Solaris releases. They will release on their own schedule. More information can be found at Announcement OpenIndiana

That's quite an excessive statement. Solaris 11 Express is built from the very same source tree, some of which is still regularly updated on the OpenSolaris site.
