C-Kermit and SunOS 5.10
Has anyone managed to install C-Kermit successfully on SunOS 5.10?

SunOS 5.10 Generic_141444-09 sun4v sparc SUNW,T5240


I installed with "make solaris9g64", the only make that worked. If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a test to see if ssl is available? Something like

C-Kermit>define test if ssl avail echo AVAILABLE
C-Kermit>test

When I run this test, I get no response. Not sure why. Is my test valid, or is kermit not finding ssl? I know that openssl is installed.

I made a typo in the above post. The actual test should be:

define test if avail ssl echo AVAILABLE


Either way, I can't seem to get a successful response.

I have a small problem with kermit and after some days searching I don't find the solution. I have a FTP server with a local directory (ldirectory). NAME

       install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system

SYNOPSIS

       install-solaris

       install-solaris	invokes  the  Solaris  Install	program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
       install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.

       The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation:

       For SPARC machines:

       128 MB

	   Minimum physical memory for all installation types

       128 MB

	   Minimum physical memory required for windowing system

       384 MB

	   Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation

       For x86 machines:

       256 MB

	   Minimum physical memory for all installation types

       256 MB

	   Minimum physical memory required for windowing system

       512 MB

	   Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation

       In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number  of  fea-
       tures available.

       install-solaris	exists	only  on  the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should be invoked only from there. Refer to the  for more
