you should replace the disks immediately if errors occure.

Making plans to replace them tonight.
I also looked at /etc/system earlier and that buffersize=2048 parameter is set for both primary and standby.

Thanks for the link! I read it to see if there's a command that would show the buffer size being used during the re-attach.

Rebooted the standby machine, cleared the DVD-ROM soft errors.

The HD in the primary was replace by an Oracle Engineer in my absence. They never deleted any of the metadbs or broke the mirrors. The drive wasn't even seated correctly. Evidently after inserting the drive correctly, the green LED became solid. It appears that a resync started automatically, right after the drive was seated correctly, which doesn't make sense.
This is the 2nd day waiting for the resync to complete before determining if the mirrors are going to be OK.

Couple of questions:
Do I lose data if the failed drive is replaced without deleting the metadbs or breaking the mirror?
Does SVM initiate an auto-resync after detecting a new drive?

fwrite takes extremely long time

After my previous thread, I think I found out what causes the long delays. I run this program on several Linux computers, and the sometimes (after the file with the arrays becomes big) the fwrite takes between 100 ms to 900 ms.
