Problem installing companion CD

Hi everyone,
Im very new to solaris and im trying to install the companion CD remotly via telent on my sunfire V120 server i have running.
I download the iso off the net then burned it to cd.
I have tried various how to's..
but its still not working..
The commands they tell me to imput come up with nothing?
I try cd /cdrom then "ls" to see if it can see the contents of the cd but nothing comes up??
Can someone help?

copy the iso to the server and use "lofiadm" to mount it in the system. read the manpage or here:
lofiadm: Solaris Mount an ISO CD Image
for information on how it works in detail.

ok thanks for the reply. Ill try that, but how do you copy the iso to the server?

ftp, scp, rcp, nfs or even samba come to my mind...

hey. i have been installing the VNC server from the solaris Companion cd under solaris 8 SPARC, when i try to open the vncserver i get: Xvnc is not in your PATH, how do i add it to the PATH ? and how do i install it if i need to do that, thx (0 Replies)
