We have upgrade tomcat from 5.0.20 to 7.0.33 and made changes to server.xml file according to newer version.. how ever the upgrade went fine and now i am unable to deploy application remotely.. it is giving 403 access denied error.. we have seperate appbase directory mentioned in server.xml..... I want to stop and Start tomcat at the time of shutdown and startup of our server . I was trying to stop tomcat with following command
# su - dm -c "/export/home/Finder/FinderWeb/jakarta-tomcat-3.3.1a/bin/shutdown.sh"

I want to compress a .war file.
bash-3.00$ ls -l /opt/test
-rw-r--r-- 1 test test 15M Aug 22 18:20 old.war
bash-3.00$ find . -type f -exec compress {} \;
./irc.war: -- file unchanged
While try to compress the above file i am getting "file unchanged error"... (7 Replies)

I have this problem.
I have script file, e.g.
#!/usr/bin/ksh
echo $MY_DIR
ls -lt $MY_DIR
I want to list the script but with MY_DIR variable expanded. E.g.
MY_DIR=/abc/xyz (in shell MY_DIR is set)
So I want to list the script and see:
#!/usr/bin/ksh
echo /abc/xyz

Trying to get tomcat 5.5.28 downloaded from apache.org running on a stock Solaris 10 zone. No matter what, I cannot get it to start. I've tried setting my JAVA_home to a jre 1.6, didn't work. Didn't work with the stock Java 1.4.2 install. What am I missing?
