I was hoping that reboot would change /dev/mux0 but it didn't!

and Solaris removed it automatically after reboot.
Another question is if we remove dangling link, will reconfiguration boot make new one?

That's a good question but I am not sure of the answer. I would try the reboot to find out.

Is there some system log file for driver issues? For example when driver is not attached, or when devfsadm reports error..
