Prep for Oracle Installation on solaris 10 gone wrong

Hi All,

I was trying to install Oracle 10g on Solaris 10 using instructions of Solaris 8. I realized about the document mismatch later on.

There are some changes enlisted in the Solaris 8 set up which are not applicable to Solaris 10. I came to know about this when the IP address in /etc/hosts file went missing. As a result I was unable to connect to internet.

I went back and added the ip to the /etc/hosts file and reverted the changes made to the/etc/system file as a part of install process. This was followed by a reboot but nothing seems to be resolving the issue.

Can anyone help, give any suggestions as to where I need to look or what I need to modify?

Is there any way to go back to the default setting of the Solaris 10 something similar to windows restore CD?

Thanks
Sumeet

Your best hope is to rebuild your system starting with the Solaris 10 Install DVD. Then start your Oracle install again. I speak from experience. Don't waste time trying to fix little things, just start over and install on a clean system.
