Server Down
Hi Guys Im a newbie.This may be a simple question but plz do answer for this..i kno some steps to perform wen a server is down.i request someone to give me all the steps to be performed wen a sun server is completely down...I need to perform the steps and recover..pls guide me.

It's not a simple question, it's an unintelligible one. Please rephrase and explain what steps you are talking about.

let me assume that im using the boot command and tryin to bring the server up but im not able to do so..ter might be lot of reasons for failures like hardware,software etc..so i need to kno the following 1)how to log in to the server tat is down.2)After doin tat steps to chk wat has caused the problem 3)initial cmds and steps to be performed to identify the error???i think im clear now...

We have a lot of tools by using which we can log in to the server which is down....
Like in SUN Servers we have "rsc" . If you are having rsc on your system then you can log into it by using RSC IP.Then you can go to "ok" prompt and debug the system....
