I've recently installed Solaris 10 10/9 in a new Dell Power Edge 630. Whenever I try to telnet, ssh, or FTP TO this box FROM another box on the same network segment, the following occurs:
- Roughly 80% of the time I get "Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused"
- The remaining 20% that it will let me connect, it will allow me to stay connected for maybe 5 seconds before it breaks the connections and comes back with "Connection closed by foreign host."
- After I am able to log in and it kicks me out, it goes back to "Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused" for a few minutes, then it will allow me in for a few seconds again before it closes the connection again.
The same things happen when I try to connect FROM the new box TO other boxes on the same network segment.
This is happening whether I try to connect with telnet, SSH, or FTP. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

It appears this issue has been resolved. I was using bnx0, which was port 1 in my Dell Power Edge 630. Dell has a remote accessing client called IDRAC that when enabled reserves port one. I noticed that when I moved to physical port 2 that all worked as it should.
Just FYI.
