libmathpack issue

Hey,
I am getting the following error when I try to run a particular binary.

fatal: libmathpack.SunOS.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory

I have tried searching the Sun forums as well as google for any pointers towards what I might be missing.

Anyone seen this before ?
Thanks a ton

can you find this file on the system? the error is such, that it can't find the required file
libmathpack.SunOS.so.1

I can,
I checked its ownership, and its owned by a group of which my id is not a part of. Could that be the issue ?
Thanks

You're not wrong. Do make the necessary amendment and retry. If you face any issues, let us know.

Ok great . thanks for replying. Its a change process, I have requested to be part of that group/permissions to that group, so I will post back as soon as I see something there.
Thanks again.

No, it can't be the issue as long as you can read that file. In any case, the loader tells it doesn't find the file, not that it can't read it.

What says:
Code:
ls -lL /<path to>/libmathpack.SunOS.so.1

and
Code:
ldd <particular binary>

?

Hey thanks so much for replying guys.

Code:
librt.so.1 =>    /usr/lib/librt.so.1
        libmathpack.SunOS.so.1 =>        (file not found)
        libCOM.SunOS.so.1 =>     (file not found)
        libpthread.so.1 =>       /usr/lib/libpthread.so.1
        libsocket.so.1 =>        /usr/lib/libsocket.so.1
        libnsl.so.1 =>   /usr/lib/libnsl.so.1
        libm.so.2 =>     /usr/lib/libm.so.2
        libCrun.so.1 =>  /usr/lib/libCrun.so.1
        libw.so.1 =>     /usr/lib/libw.so.1
        libthread.so.1 =>        /usr/lib/libthread.so.1
        libc.so.1 =>     /usr/lib/libc.so.1
        libaio.so.1 =>   /lib/libaio.so.1
        libmd.so.1 =>    /lib/libmd.so.1
        libmp.so.2 =>    /lib/libmp.so.2
        libscf.so.1 =>   /lib/libscf.so.1
        libdoor.so.1 =>  /lib/libdoor.so.1
        libuutil.so.1 =>         /lib/libuutil.so.1
        libgen.so.1 =>   /lib/libgen.so.1
        /platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-T200/lib/libc_psr.so.1
        /platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-T200/lib/libmd_psr.so.1

So, if I just do a ldd on the binary im trying to run, I see that those files are not actually found ? Even though I am able to navigate to those dirs, and actually see those files, as my id.

So what could be the issue ? Is it about giving my id group permissions to the group which owns that Sun so file ?
